Huia’s Claire Allen is a sorceress with Marlborough’s aromatic white varieties, be they classic Sauvignon or this gorgeous Riesling; there is citrus in the guise of lime oil and zest, with makrut leaves and white floral notes, but with a slight toasty edge from the start of some graceful bottle development. The palate flows with acidity knitted into the texture and ends on a vibrant mineral finish.
