Born from a Gold Rush legend, BlackJack Wines takes its name from an American sailor who jumped ship in the 1850s, chasing fortune and freedom on Australian soil.
His journey led him to the Castlemaine Goldfields, where his story became woven into the fabric of the region—so much so that the road bordering the BlackJack vineyard still bears his name today.
From the outset, the winery has been driven by a singular purpose: to craft exceptional red wines that speak clearly of their place and their season.
Each wine is shaped by vineyard and vintage, made using traditional techniques and hand-picked fruit, allowing the true character of the land to shine through—unforced, honest, and expressive.

2021 Blackjack Block 6 Shiraz
Crimson red colour. Clean and defined plum and dark berry aromas on the nose. Spice and liquorice as well. The palate full and generous, dark berry and plum, cinnamon, and spice. A savouriness adds complexity and depth. Fine grape and French oak tannins add backbone to an extended and elegant finish.

2022 Blackjack Cabernet Merlot
Bright ruby red in colour. Cassis, red currant and spice evident on nose. Medium weight palate, Bramble and red currant flavours combined with cedary oak characters on the palate, against a supportive background of fine, integrated tannins. Balanced and lingering finish.

2021 Blackjack Shiraz
Fabulous colour, deep, dark, inky and full of brightness. Lifted aromas of white pepper, blackberry, ferrous earth, sweet spice and clove. The palate has lovely flesh, weight and mouth-feel. Full of blue and dark fruits, spice, cola and nutty oak. Firm tannins and lively acidity round it out very nicely
